FAQs
How do you protect my child’s data?
I take your child’s privacy very seriously. All personal data is stored securely and only used
for the purpose of providing therapy services. Your child’s information is kept confidential,
and I comply with data protection regulations, ensuring that no personal details are shared
without your consent, unless required by law.
What happens if there is a safeguarding concern?
If I have concerns about your child’s safety or well-being, I am required to follow
safeguarding procedures. This may involve sharing information with relevant authorities,
such as social services, to ensure your child’s safety. I will always inform you if a disclosure
is necessary unless doing so would place your child at further risk.
Do you carry out a risk assessment?
Yes, I carry out a risk assessment at the start of therapy to ensure that the environment is safe
for your child and that any potential risks are identified and managed appropriately. This is
done to protect both your child and myself during our sessions.
What is your policy on lone working?
When working one-on-one with children, I follow a lone working policy. These policies
ensure that I conduct therapy in a safe, professional environment. Sessions are conducted in a
secure setting, and I make sure to adhere to best practice standards for safety
What ethical guidelines do you follow?
I follow the ethical framework set out by Play Therapy UK (PTUK). This includes ensuring
the highest standards of practice, professionalism, and respect for confidentiality. I commit to
maintaining the integrity and dignity of all clients, providing therapy in a way that is fair,
transparent, and in the best interest of your child.
