What is Creative Arts Therapy?
Creative arts therapy is a therapeutic approach designed to help children express themselves, explore their emotions, and work through challenges using creative mediums. Since young people often find it easier to communicate through creativity and play rather than words, this method allows them to engage in activities that reflect their inner world. Through various techniques, such as drawing, role-playing, and storytelling, children can safely process their experiences and develop coping skills.
Creative therapy is beneficial for addressing a wide range of issues, including neurodiverse conditions, anxiety, trauma, behavioural problems, developmental challenges and much more, in a way that feels natural and engaging for young minds.
My Approach – Integrative Holistic Therapy
In my practice, I use an integrative holistic model of therapy. This combines various therapeutic techniques to address the individual needs of each child. This approach considers the whole child—emotionally, mentally, and socially—and tailor’s interventions to their unique situation.
